Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities is pretty well known when it comes to Apple. In a research note, the analyst made a forecast about the iPhone 6 sales, saying the company shipped a whopping 73 million iPhones in the fourth quarter of 2014.
It’s not just the iPhone 6 sales forecast, the analyst also believes that Apple will launch the highly-anticipated Apple Watch in March. Although Apple has been a little reserved when it comes to specific details about the Watch, the report mentions Apple may unveil details about the wearable prior to its launch.
As for the iPhone 6 forecasts, the analyst estimates the 4.7-inch model led the charts with over 42 million units shipped while the iPhone 6 Plus was just over 16 million sales. He also estimates the shipments for the first quarter of 2015 to be a little over 61 million.
Kuo reports that Apple Watch shipments are expected to be around 2.8 million for the quarter ending in March, which is quite impressive.
Furthermore, the analyst say the company is expected to unveil the much-awaited 12-inch Macbook Air with Retina display during this quarter, a little before April. The machine will be equipped with Retina display, latest Intel’s chip, and will offer ultra-thin form factor. Kuo expects Mac sales to rise to 6 million by the end of the first quarter, rising a little more than 5.9 million forecast in Q4.
