Razer is getting ready to launch its second generation gaming smartphone, the Razer Phone 2. We recently saw a leaked photo of the handset, and now we have a leaked press render of the device.
As we can see from the picture above, the design of the new Razer Phone 2 is very similar to the design of their first-generation smartphone. The sleek, boxy design with sharp edges and the iconic Razer logo on the back remains a staple, ensuring that fans of the original design will not be disappointed.
Expected Upgrades and Features
As yet, we do not know all the upgrades this new gaming smartphone will come with. The existing device features a Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 5.7-inch display. The display on the new handset is expected to remain the same, maintaining the 120Hz refresh rate that made the original Razer Phone a favorite among gamers for its smooth and responsive screen.
The device will probably come with a Snapdragon 845 processor and 8GB of RAM, which would be a significant upgrade in terms of performance. The Snapdragon 845 is known for its enhanced AI capabilities, better graphics rendering, and improved battery efficiency, making it an ideal choice for a gaming smartphone. Additionally, there are rumors that the Razer Phone 2 might feature an upgraded cooling system to handle extended gaming sessions without overheating.
Additional Features and Speculations
Beyond the processor and RAM, there are several other features and improvements that fans are hoping to see in the Razer Phone 2. One of the most anticipated upgrades is in the camera department. The original Razer Phone had a decent camera setup, but it lagged behind other flagship smartphones. It is expected that the Razer Phone 2 will come with a more advanced camera system, possibly featuring dual lenses with improved low-light performance and enhanced image stabilization.
Another area where the Razer Phone 2 could see improvements is in battery life. The original Razer Phone had a 4,000mAh battery, which was quite substantial, but with the increased demands of modern mobile gaming, a larger battery or more efficient power management could be a welcome addition. Wireless charging is another feature that many users are hoping to see in the new model.
In terms of software, the Razer Phone 2 is expected to run on the latest version of Android, with Razer’s customizations to optimize gaming performance. This could include features like Game Booster, which allows users to tweak performance settings for individual games, and a revamped user interface that prioritizes ease of use and quick access to gaming apps.
As soon as we get some more information about the handset, we will let you guys know. The gaming community is eagerly awaiting the official announcement, and it will be interesting to see how Razer plans to compete with other gaming smartphones on the market, such as the ASUS ROG Phone and the Xiaomi Black Shark.
