Ahead of the official release of the new Android Lollipop operating system by Google to consumers, XDA member “Shaftamie” and created an installable APK for the Lollipop keyboard, thanks to the final developer Android Lollipop SDK.
The new Android Lollipop keyboard APK is now available to download and apparently can be laced on to almost an Android smartphone that are running 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or later.
The latest Android Lollipop keyboard features a wealth on new functionality and styling thanks to the Material Design, although a few early users of the APK are reporting that the keyboard closes when using it with non-Google applications. Shaftamle explains :
“No. It’s a Google keyboard. Just modified so everyone can install. Google themes that came with the keyboard are the only options. “
