Google officially announced via Twitter that starting today, most of the Nexus devices will get the sweet taste of Android 5.0 Lollipop, including Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2013 and 2014) and Nexus 10.
The update will roll out over-the-air, and may take a few days to complete. So don’t panic if you don’t get it on the first day of release.
If you don’t want to wait, and have knowledge about flashing, you can download the factory images from Google Nexus website, and install it manually on your device. Currently, the Android 5.0 Lollipop factory images are available for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2013/WiFi), Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 (2012/WiFi). Nexus 4’s factory images are not yet available, but it will get the update over-the-air. Users in possession of the LTE version of the Nexus 7 — both 2012 and 2013 models — will have to wait a little bit longer for the factory images.
It’s not just the Nexus devices, LG has already confirmed it will roll out the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the LG G3 by the end of the year, and even Motorola started rolling out the update for the Moto X and Moto G second generation.
