The last thing we heard about the Amazon Kindle TV was that the device would launch in April, and now Amazon has sent out invites to a press event which will take place on the 2nd of April.
The invite to the event can be seen below, and as you can see the event will be something to do with Amazon’s ‘video business’, which is most likely the new Amazon Kindle TV.
We already know that the new Amazon Kindle TV will come with a game controller, as we previous saw a leaked photo of the device.
It is not clear as yet whether the Amazon Kindle TV will be a set top box, like the Apple TV or a similar device to Google’s Chromecast.
The Amazon Kindle TV will apparently stream Amazon’s own video content as well as content from competitors like Netflix and Hulus Plus.
It is expected to run a modified version of Google’s Android OS, just like Amazon’s Kindle Fire range of tablets, we should have full details on the device next week.
