Acer has this week added a new addition to their range of convertible laptops, in the form of the newly launched Acer Aspire R13 ad R14 systems.
The new Acer Aspire R13 and R14 system were rumoured to be in production last month and have now been officially unveiled and launch by Acer at this years IFA 2014 technology event.
The unique pivoting screen design of the new Acer Aspire R13 convertible laptops allows the screen to be positioned above the keyboard whilst in tablet mode.
When a keyboard is required for longer messages and documents the screen can easily be pivoted to create a laptop style layout. Acer explains that the spacial “Ezel Aero” hinge included on the R 13 Series lets you choose from six different display positions depending on your needs.
The Acer Aspire R13 range has the option to be equipped with either a 2560 x 1440 or 1920 x 1080 IPS display and powered by a choice of either Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors supported by up to 8GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of solid state disk (SSD) storage. The R13 range will be available to purchase next month starting at $899.
The larger Aspire R 14 family only includes the option for a 14-inch display with 1366 x 768 display and is powered by a range of Intel processors supported by Nvidia 820M graphics options with either 500GB or 1TB hard drive options available. Prices for the Acer Aspire R 14 will start at $599 and system will also be available next month.
