Apple are expected to announce three new iPhones at a press event in September, a 5.8 inch OLED iPhone X, a 6.1 inch LCD iPhone X and a 6.5 inch OLED iPhone.
We were expecting all three models to go on sale some time in September, although according to a recent report the new LCD iPhone X may not actually launch until October.
There is apparently an issue with the production of the LCD model which has caused the handset to be delayed.
We currently see no delay in the ramp of Apple’s upcoming flagship 5.8″ or 6.5″ OLED iPhones. However suspected issues with LED backlight leakage have caused a 1 month delay in mass production of the 6.1″ LCD iPhone, although this is down from a 6-week delay baked into the original production forecast, according to suppliers …
That would mean that the LCD iPhone would not launch until some time in October, this handset is said to be the cheapest of the three and it is expected to cost around $700.
