MTI Micro Mobion – Fuel Cell Gadget Charger
MTI Micro has released details of their latest fuel cell charger, the MTI Micro Mobion.
This new charger features a removable fuel cell cartridge that can be replaced, each of the fuel cell cartridges can provide up to 25 hours of on the go power.
It can basically charge any gadget with a USB connection, like your iPhone or iPod or MP3 player.
One cartridge is enough to fully charge an average cell phone 10 times, and for the average cell phone user this could mean up to a months worth of charging, play around 10,000 songs or watch around 100 hours of video.
“These chargers have been built using processes developed to increase throughput efficiency, intensify our testing, and increase reliability and consistency among units”, said Jim Prueitt, Vice President of Engineering and Operations. “We are committed to ensure a process that delivers the engineering and manufacturing rigor necessary to make consistent, reliable products.”
MTI Micro intend to launch this new charger by the end of 2009, I wonder how much it will retail for, if it’s affordable I can see it being a big hit, having that amount of battery backup at hand would be really useful.

[...] It’s Murphy’s Law. The ironic thing about your mobile phone’s battery is that it runs out of charge when you need it the most. However, MTI Micro’s Mobion removable fuel cell cartridge is able to charge your mobile gadgets via USB, ten times more than your ordinary battery with an autonomy of 25 hours. That means you may not have to charge your device for a whole week. Though we don’t have a price, it’s expected to launch in 2009. It already looks like a top seller… [via Geeky-Gadgets] [...]
