iCarte Turns Your iPhone Into an RFID Reader

There have been a few rumors that the next generation Apple iPhone may contain a built in RFID tag reader, I guess we wont know until next year when apple release a new iPhone.

In the meantime a company called Wireless Dynamics has developed an accessory for the iPhone and iPod touch along with an app that can read RFID tags and near field communications, called the iCarte.

AMD has launched their latest graphics card in their ATI Radeon range, which they are calling the worlds fastest graphics card, the AMD ATi Radeon HD 5970.

The AMD ATi Radeon HD 5970 features Dual GPUs with a total of 4.3 billion 40nm transistors, Direct X 11 support, Open GL 3.2 support, 2GB of 1000MHZ GDDR5 RAM, ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU technology and ATI Stream acceleration technology.

Magellan Launches RoadMate iPhone App And Car Kit

The latest company to launch a satellite navigation application for the iPhone is Magellan with the launch of their RoadMate iPhone App, together with that they have also launched a car kit accessory.

The Magellan RoadMate is similarly priced to the previous sat nav iPhone apps we have seen, it is available for $79.99 from iTunes.

NEC Develops Battery Free TV Remote Control

NEC Electronics and Japanese company Soundpower have developed a TV remote control that works without the need for batteries.

When a user presses a button on the remote, to change the channel or turn the volume up or down a small amount of electricity is generated through vibrations, the energy is then used to power the remote and complete the desired function.

Dell Adamo XPS Now Available

The Dell Adamo, which was officially announced by Dell earlier this month has finally gone one sale, and it is now available from Dell, with prices starting at $1,799.

The Dell Adamo XPS  is an ultra thin laptop, measuring just 9.9mm thick, making it considerably thinner than the 16.4mm of the previous Adamo, and it weighs just 1.44kg and measured 340 x 273.9mm.

We have seen quite a few of these ION powered nettops here ate Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is from Chinese company Giada, the Giada Slim N10 ION Nettop.

The Giada Slim N10 ION Nettop features an Intel Atom N330 dual cores processor, NVIDIA ION graphics, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM and a 2.5 inch SATA II hard drive.

New Google Instant Translation
