Microsoft [MSFT] has launched the latest version of their mobile phone operating system, although the name has now changed from Windows Mobile to Windows Phone 7.
Microsoft also announced that hardware manufacturers are working on a range of new mobile phones for Windows Phone 7, and we will see the first devices with the new operating system in the stores by the holiday 2010 shopping season.

Apple’s App store has been a great success for Apple and developers, who have both shared large revenues, whilst mobile phone operators have missed out on the revenues, and it looks like they are attempting to change that.
Twenty four of the worlds largest mobile phone operators have teamed up to form the Wholesale Applications Community, which according to them is designed to make it easier for developers to build and sell applications on any device and technology.
The latest company top confirm that they are working on a netbook that will run the Google Chrome OS is Samsung, who have said that the netbook could be available sometime this year, although we have no idea when, but it looks likely to be near the end of 2010.
Unfortunately Samsung haven’t given us many details on their new Chrome OS netbook, but it does look like it will come with a twelve hour battery life which seems pretty impressive.
Motorola has added a new Google Android smartphone to its range with the launch of the Motorola Quench, or CLIQ XT as it will be known in the US, and it looks like this is the new Motorola handset that we showed you the other week.
The Motorola Quench / CLIQ XT will come with Google Android 1.5 and will feature Motorola’s MotoBlur UI. It features a 3.1 inch HVGA touchscreen with pinch and zoom functions, plus a front navigation touch-pad.
Samsung has added a new mobile phone to their range with the launch of the Samsung Wave. The Wave is Samsung’s first smartphone to run their new Bada OS.
The Samsung Wave features a 1GHz processor and a 3.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480, plus a five megapixel camera with a built in LED flash and auto focus, and a range of shooting modes which include, smile, panorama, continuous, beauty and vintage shot, it also features a built in photo editor, and it is also capable of recording HD video in 720p.

The latest iPad rumor doing the rounds is that Apple will reduce the cost of TV shows on iTunes from $2.00 down to just $1.00 in order to get iPad owners to purchase more TV shows.
The new pricing would apply to standard definition TV programmes, and apparently a number of TV studios have agreed to reduce the price of their shows in the hopes that they will sell a lot more.
With Sony releasing their first 3D HDTV’s and Blu-ray players recently, it is only a matter of time before their PS3 gaming console gets a 3D update, and it looks like this will be coming via a firmware update.
According to Sony all of the existing PS3 games will be compatible with the 3D update, although not all of the existing games will look as good in 3d.
