Earlier today the new ZTE Axon Pro smartphone was made official. The handset will launch in the US later this month and it comes with some impressive specifications.
The video below, from the guys over at Pocket Now, gives us a look at the new ZTE Axon and some of its features.
Display and Performance
The device comes with a 5.5 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which ensures that users get a crisp and vibrant visual experience. This high resolution is particularly beneficial for media consumption, gaming, and even productivity tasks, providing sharp text and detailed images.
Under the hood, the Axon Pro features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. This powerful chipset is designed to handle demanding applications and multitasking with ease. Coupled with 4GB of RAM, the device promises smooth performance even when running multiple apps simultaneously. This combination of processor and RAM makes the Axon Pro a formidable competitor in the smartphone market, capable of handling everything from intensive gaming to professional-grade applications.
Camera and Storage
The Axon Pro also comes with 32GB of built-in storage. While this may be sufficient for many users, those who require more space for apps, photos, and videos might find it limiting. Unfortunately, the device does not support expandable storage via microSD card, which is a consideration for potential buyers.
On the front, the Axon Pro is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, perfect for selfies and video calls. The dual-camera setup on the back includes a 2-megapixel camera and a 13-megapixel camera. This combination allows for advanced photography features such as depth sensing, which can be used to create bokeh effects and improve low-light performance. The dual-camera system is designed to provide users with more flexibility and creativity in their photography.
Battery and Software
The device also comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which should provide a full day of usage under normal conditions. Battery life is a critical aspect for any smartphone user, and the Axon Pro aims to deliver a reliable experience. However, heavy users might need to charge the device before the end of the day, especially if they are using power-intensive applications or features.
The Axon Pro runs on Android Lollipop, which, while not the latest version of Android, still offers a solid and user-friendly experience. Android Lollipop introduced several key features such as Material Design, which provides a more intuitive and visually appealing interface, and improved notifications, which allow users to manage their alerts more effectively. Additionally, the operating system includes various performance improvements and battery-saving features.
Price and Availability
The ZTE Axon Pro will go on sale in the US later this month and will retail for $450 unlocked. This price point positions the Axon Pro as a mid-range device with high-end features, making it an attractive option for consumers looking for a powerful smartphone without breaking the bank. The unlocked nature of the phone means that it can be used with various carriers, providing flexibility for users who may want to switch providers or use the device internationally.
The ZTE Axon Pro offers a compelling package with its high-resolution display, powerful processor, ample RAM, and advanced camera system. While the lack of expandable storage and the older version of Android may be drawbacks for some, the overall specifications and competitive pricing make it a noteworthy contender in the smartphone market.
