YouTube has this week released a new update for the YouTube Android app that brings with it a new feature that enables users to select the streaming quality of their video playback.
Once you have installed the latest YouTube Android app update, you will gain access to a menu setting that enables you to select the quality of your video stream with options for 144p, 240p, 360p and 720p.
Unfortunately at the current time an option for full HD 1080p resolutions isn’t available from the YouTube Android app but is expected to be added at a later date.
If you would like the ability to select the quality of your streaming video from YouTube on your mobile Android device, the new YouTube Android app is available to download from the Google Play Store for free and is currently version 5.7.
Other new features and enhancements that are available in this latest YouTube Android app update include YouTube Mix that automatically creates playlists for music videos, the ability to reply to comments and delete your own content as well as see if a comment was shared privately or publicly.
