A new version of the popular Wii Homebrew Channel has been released for the Wii U, allowing it to install on both consoles. The Homebrew Channel allows Wii owners to play anything from emulated retro games to normally unsupported video file formats, as well as uniformly terrible homebrew games.
The hack is restricted to the Wii U’s “Wii Mode” at the moment, so the Wii U’s shiny new GamePad is still off limits to developers, but it could provide a decent jumping off point for further hacks that might make the machine’s other features available to enthusiasts. However, if you have a Wii U and just can’t wait to stick it to the man and run whatever you please on your machine, the installer can be found in the link below.
