Lukas Fornaro a developer based in Germany has designed a unique calendar application for iOS devices called Timeslide, which offers a wide variety of features above and beyond anything currently available.
To take the calendar application concept to the masses, Lukas has launched a Kickstarter campaign this week to raise the €15,000 he requires for the development and creation of the application. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about its features and functionality.
Lucas explains more about his Kickstarter campaign and Timeslide calendar application :
Timeslide is a completely new kind of calendar app for tablets, smartphones and desktop computers. The traditional approach of calendar design was questioned in context of the new possibilities that digital interaction can offer. This opens the gates for a new user interface, which offers lightning fast navigation and an overview of the appointments for a whole month.
The big difference to existing calendar apps here is that you have a horizontal timeline that displays your dates of one whole month instead of having weeks staggered under each other. This helps with comparing your dates and days, realizing at what times you will be busy.
The timeline shows previews of your dates first (there are four graphical symbols for this, see the video), but one touch (or click) opens up the detailed day view. You can also slide through your days by holding your finger and sliding left or right; hence the name “Timeslide”. There’s never been such a concept for a calendar, but being different for the sake of being different alone is no use yet: Try the prototype and see the advantages for yourself!
