Poligon London has created a new range of metal calendars to provide a unique way of keeping tabs on the days as they pass by and important dates through 2017. Watch the video below to learn more about this new range of metal desktop calendars.
The new 365 Calendar range are now available to back via Kickstarter with pledges starting from £17 for earlybird backers. With shipping expected to take place before the end of the year, allowing you to get prepared for 2017 in advance.
This is our second Kickstarter campaign. If you’d like to learn more check out our first project from 2014. In brief Poligon began as a collaboration between Rodrigo and Matt, which lead to the creation of several sculptural metal etched animals. They both loved the look and the pleasure of folding perfect geometric forms. The successful campaign featured insects and larger animals including a gorilla, whale and penguin.
The calendars are made in the same way; but this time our focus was object interaction, and less about the making. The accuracy and intricacy of the etching process makes the calendars compact yet very clear. The joy of using them comes from the ritual of marking each day. Future events can be marked, this can be done with a full fold or half fold, perhaps signifying a less important event.
The folded arrives flat, and you fold it into the triangular form. Then you insert the end caps, folding the corners locking everything together. It’s easy to make up. Each of the three faces has 4 months of the year on it. This is the same for both normal and hex styles. Every 4 months you will turn to a new face. We will supply a folding tool that docks with the end caps. The flat versions have all 12 months on their front face.
