Earlier we saw a new budget Android tablet from Toshiba, and the company has launched a new budget Windows tablet, the Toshiba Encore 2.
This new budget Windows 8.1 tablet will retail for $199, this is for the 8 inch version of the device, Toshiba is also launching a 10.1 inch version of the Encore 2.
“Our Encore 2 tablets are the perfect complement to a customer’s arsenal of devices, giving them the familiarity and common functionality of Windows for a more seamless computing experience, whether they’re editing or creating documents, enjoying movies and games or staying in touch with friends and family,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.
Both of these new Toshiba Encore 2 tablet comes with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, an Intel Atom processor, up to 64GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot which supports 128GB cards.
The 10 inch and 8 inch Toshiba Encore 2 tablets come with front and rear facing cameras, on the front there is a HD capable camera, on the back there is a 5 megapixel camera, and they also come with Windows 8.1 and a years Office 360 for free.
Prices start at $199.99 for the 8 inch model and $269.99 for the 10 inch model, you can find out more information about both devices over at Toshiba at the link below, they will be available in the US from July.
