Toshiba has today officially announced the launch of their new Toshiba Chromebook 2 which builds on the technology used in the previous Chromebook, that will be launching next month with prices starting at just $250.
Toshiba has equipped the new Chromebook 2 with an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor together with 16GB of storage which can be expanded with the use of the included SD card reader.
Toshiba will be offering the option to install either 2 or 4 GB of RAM and the13.3 inch IPS display will be available with either a resolution of 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Other features of the new Toshiba Chromebook 2 include 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0 port, a full-size HDMI output and 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. As well as a HD webcam and dual-array microphones.
Toshiba have also equipped the Chrome OS laptop with a battery that is capable of providing up to 11.5 hours of use on a single charge when combined with the 1366 x 768 resolution screen. Or 9 hours of use when used with the 1920 x 1080 pixel system.
The new Toshiba Chromebook 2 laptop will be available to purchase in the US from October 5th 2014 and will range in price from $250 up to $330 running Google’s Chrome OS operating system. For more information on the new Chromebook 2 jump over to the Toshiba press release website for details.
