Porsche has officially announced a new version of their popular Cayman sports car, the Porsche Cayman GT4.
The Porsche Cayman GT4 is the first GT version of the Cayman and Porsche is using some of the components from their super fast 911 GT3 in their new Cayman GT4.
According to Porsche, their new Cayman GT4 completed an impressive lap time of 7 minutes 40 seconds on the North Loop of the Nürburgring, which is pretty impressive.
The new Cayman GT4 features a 3.8 litre flat six engine with 385 HP, the engine is derived from the 911 Carrera S, it has a top speed of 183 MPH and can travel from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.2 seconds. It also features a six speed manual gearbox
As well as the engine upgrades and more power, Porsche have given the new Cayman GT4 some styling upgrades, include a new aerodynamic package, three front air intakes and a larger rear wing.
As with all Porsche models, the company will offer a number of options that are designed to improve handling and performance, these will include PCCB ceramic brakes, a Sport Chrono Package and full shell seats that are constructed from carbon fibre reinforced plastic.
We can expect to see the new Porsche Cayman GT4 make its world debut at the Geneva International Motor show in March. As yet Porsche has not revealed any information on pricing, we should have more information next month.
