Fox has this week confirmed that the already announced and highly anticipated return of the X-Files and FBI agents Mulder and Scully will take place early next year on January 24th 2016.
The six-episode X-Files return, will start with back-to-back episodes on the 24th and 25th January following the NFL’s NFC Championship Game.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said creator/executive producer Chris Carter, “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
Fox explains more about the return of the X-File duo arriving on our screen in January next year.
“The next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).
The thrilling, six-episode event series, helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY, marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.”
