The Purported HTC Eye To Feature a FHD Display and Snapdragon 801 (Rumor)

HTC One M8

HTC is reportedly working on another handset dubbed as HTC Eye, which is said to launch by the end of the year. The alleged handset is said to be an ultimate selfie phone, but we don’t have more details about its photographic capabilities at the moment.

According to UpLeaks, the purported HTC Eye will come with a 5.2-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset and Adreno 330 GPU.

The new leaker has revealed a number of things about the upcoming HTC handset, saying it will feature a similar set of specifications as the HTC One M8, reportedly featuring a 13MP Duo Camera on board. If its true, this will definitely be a worthy upgrade since HTC One M8’s camera is not on par with cameras from other manufacturers. So, a 13MP bump would definitely improve the quality of the captured photos, if it turns out to be true.

Earlier this year, the now-retired @evleaks also shared some information about the alleged HTC Eye. The prolific leaker said that HTC Eye will reportedly make its way to AT&T in the US, and will see the light of the day by the end of the fourth quarter. It’s apparently touted as the “ultimate selfie phone.”

There’s no official word from HTC about the existence of any such device, but the company is holding a press event on October 8th. We may get some information about the alleged device, but rumors suggest we may see something else, possibly a GoPro alternative, at the event next month. Stay tuned, we’ll update you as soon as any other information comes up. Until then, a proverbial amount of salt is recommended.
