Many parents don’t want to give a kid a smartphone for their first mobile device. Some younger children may have a hard time using a smartphone with more complex functions. Sprint has a new device called the WeGo that is aimed at helping kids stay connected and parents informed. The WeGo has launched on the Sprint network.
WeGo is aimed at kids 5 to 12 years old. It is a very simple and easy to use tool that gives parental controls and has a single front button and two side volume controls. Those side keys can be used to scroll content on the LCD on front. The functions of the phone include the ability for parents to see where their kid is on a map.
Parents can also set up contacts for the child and notifications. WeGo can be purchased on Sprint Easy Pay with nothing down and 24 payments of $5. Service for the WeGo is $9.99 monthly with 1000 minutes of talk and 1000 text messages. The device can also notify parents if the child is in a vehicle that exceeds a pre-set speed. Functions to silence the phone during school or other times are included as well.
