If you have been patiently waiting for the Specialized Turbo electric assisted bicycle to launch in the US you will be pleased to learn that it is now available to purchase for $5,900.
The Specialized Turbo electric bicycle was almost too fast to be legally sold in Europe and the US, but is now available and capable of reaching a top assisted speed of 27.9 mph.
The custom Turbo Li-Ion battery on the Specialized Turbo recharges in just two and a half hours and the bike and battery weighs in at 23kgs. Marc Faude, Specialized Europe Urban Bikes Product Manager explains:
“We want to ride fast, well-designed eBikes but what was out in the market today wasn’t meeting our needs or the needs of our riders,”-“We believe Turbo is a major leap forward for the eBike rider and the market overall.”
Adding to the gadget appeal of the Specialized Turbo its equipped with a wireless interface unit and illuminated display enabling riders to see: assist level, battery status, and light on/off switch together with features such as speed, time and distance.
