Sony did release a list of devices which will get the taste of the latest Android 4.4 KitKat this year. Well, a Polish carrier Play mentioned Sony Xperia Z will get the Android 4.4 KitKat by March, which sounds reasonable.
According to a new listing by a French carrier SFR, a trio of Sony devices, including Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact will get the taste of Android 4.4 KitKat in April.
Like every other OEM, Sony also released a list of devices last year which will get the taste of Android 4.4 KitKat last year, including Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 — Xperia Z1 Compact should also get the update, but its not in the list as it was released months before the compact version got official.
While many Xperia fans are still drooling over the recently announced Xperia Z2, but don’t just forget there are other decent handsets from the Japanese OEM as well, which are waiting for the latest Android OS. There’s no official word from Sony about the release, but we’ll update you as soon as we hear anything about the release.
