Skype has rolled out a new update to its Mac and PC Skype software, which brings with it their new eGifting service, which has been created by Skype to allow users to send a gift of credit to anyone.
Now when Skype prompts you with a birthday notification you can choose to gift someone with Skype credit, which they can use to call you or anyone else, at any time.
As well as the new Skype eGifting features Skype has also rolled out a new toolbar design to bring together the main Skype actions in one place for users. Providing access to access to Home, Calling Phones, Creating Groups and Adding Contacts all just above their contact list and recent conversations.
Other new features include the ability to send IM with ctrl+enter, but Skype has also explained that computers with Intel Pentium 3 or similar processors, which do not support SSE2 instructions, are not supported anymore. For more information on the new Skype eGifting features jump over to the Skype press release website for details.
The latest Skype software is available to download for Windows and Mac systems, both of which include the new Skype eGifting feature.
