A new style of notepad has been designed called Shot Note that makes it easy to transfer your notes directly in to iPhone or iPod Touch using a free iOS application.
Unfortunately the special paper required to scan the documents might be a little tricky to obtain if you are located outside of Japan. But creating a quick template you can print off with the locators in each corner might help you use the application until the Shot Note pads are a little more accessible worldwide.
The corner locators on the paper are used to make sure the iphone is positioned correctly to start the scan and are detected by the free iOS application. Also if you fill out the date and number fields on the page, these sections will be read by OCR and become searchable, you alos have the ability to manually add a title and tags to each note, helping refine the searches even more.
