Anyone looking for a private desktop cloud storage solution that also offers options for sharing files with others, might be interested in a new Kickstarter crowd funding campaign which is launched for the Sherlybox.
The Sherlybox has been designed to create a private, invite-only network where you can share movies, music, documents or anything else you might need, without any restrictions on storage or file sizes.
Sherlybox was first unveiled during last year’s Tech Crunch Disrupt 2013 event and since then has been refined and developed to offer improved security, storage and speed. Sher.ly Inc. the creators of the new Sherlybox cloud storage device explain a little more:
“Sherlybox is the natural stage of Sher.ly’s development: application based on the secure connectivity technology our team created in 2009 called GatelessVPN. GVN is a special kind of Virtual Private Network working without central servers. The users are communicating directly with each other. Unlike other file sharing solutions, Sher.ly doesn’t distribute copies of your data. It grants access to it instead.
Sherlybox is the easiest way to share files. It works like a cloud, but data stays on your own drives. Make a folder and invite friends to share it”
