Sharp has today unveiled their new Sharp LE820 HDTV, which is equipped with their innovative Quattron Quad Pixel Technology that was showcased at CES 2011.
Quattron Quad Pixel Technology
Quattron Quad Pixel Technology takes the traditional red, green, blue color spectrum on standard HDTVs to a new level with the introduction of a yellow pixel, creating Quad Pixel Technology. This addition of the yellow pixel enhances the color range and accuracy, providing a more vibrant and lifelike viewing experience. The technology aims to deliver more realistic colors, especially in scenes with golds, yellows, and other hues that are difficult to reproduce with the standard RGB color model. Features and Specifications
Sharp’s new LE820 HDTV also comes equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate and edge LED lighting. The 120Hz refresh rate ensures smoother motion for fast-action scenes, making it ideal for watching sports and action movies. The edge LED lighting provides better contrast and energy efficiency compared to traditional backlighting methods.
Additionally, the LE820 HDTV includes Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to access a variety of online content directly from their TV. This feature supports onboard apps for popular streaming services such as Netflix, Vudu, and CinemaNow, enabling users to stream their favorite movies and TV shows without the need for external devices. However, it’s important to note that the Wi-Fi feature won’t be available on all models in the new Quattron Quad Pixel HDTV range.
The new Quattron Quad Pixel HDTV range will include models with screen sizes ranging from 40 to 60 inches, catering to different viewing preferences and room sizes. The price range for these models will be from $1,299 up to $2,799, making them accessible to a wide range of consumers.
The LE820 series also boasts a sleek and modern design, with a thin bezel that maximizes the viewing area and adds a touch of elegance to any living room. The edge LED lighting not only enhances the picture quality but also contributes to the TV’s slim profile, making it easier to mount on walls or fit into entertainment centers.
Sharp has also focused on energy efficiency with the LE820 series. The edge LED lighting consumes less power compared to traditional CCFL backlighting, and the TV is designed to meet Energy Star standards. This means that users can enjoy high-quality viewing experiences while also being mindful of their energy consumption and environmental impact.
For those interested in the latest advancements in HDTV technology, the Quattron Quad Pixel Technology represents a significant step forward. By expanding the color spectrum and improving color accuracy, Sharp aims to provide a viewing experience that is closer to what the human eye perceives in the real world. This technology, combined with the LE820’s other features, makes it a compelling option for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment system.
