If you are like me you probably have a huge amount of photos and other digital files on your computer that you want to back up. My external HDD is a USB 2.0 unit and it takes forever to complete a backup. I have been looking for a storage solution with USB 3.0 for a while and Samsung has finally announced one that should be fast and portable.
The drive is an updated version of the S2 Portable HDD that has been around for a while now with USB 3.0 connectivity. The only real change for the new drive is USB 3.0. The S2 uses a 2.5-inch HDD that spins at 7200rpm.
Samsung also uses tech to keep the drive quiet as well. You can pick one up, if you live in Europe, later this month at an unknown price. It will come in 320GB or 640GB capacities and include backup software.
