The Samsung Galaxy S5 is rumored to be launching early next year the handset may be announced in January, and now we may have some more information on what processor the device will use.
When Apple announced the iPhone 5S, with its 64-bit processor, Samsung were quick to announce that they would be releasing future smartphones with 64-bit processors.
Now according to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will come with a Samsung Exynos 6 processor with 14nm architecture and 64-bit support.
On top of that this new Samsung Exynos 6 processor will also apparently feature ARM’s big.LITTLE octa-core configuration with Cortex A-53 and A57 cores, the A57 core apparently uses half as much power as Samsung’s Exynos 5420 processor.
The other rumored specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S5 include Android 4.4 Kit Kat, and a 16 megapixel camera, the camera is said to be based on the one used in the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Samsung are expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy S5 in January, and the handset is rumored to go on sale worldwide in February of 2014.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 handset has sold very well, and is their most popular smartphone to date, although the device apparently has not met Samsung internal sales targets, and this is why they are pushing the release of the Galaxy S5 up to February of next year.
