Last week Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Round, the first Android smartphone from Samsung with a curved flexible display, and now we have an unboxing video for the handset from the guys over at Underkg.
The Samsung Galaxy Round features a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the display on the handset is curved horizontally from left to right.
The handset is powered by a quad core 2.3GHz processor and it also features 3GB of RAM, the handset also comes with 32GB of built in storage.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean powers the Samsung Galaxy Round, and the device has an advanced 13 megapixel rear camera for photos and video and a front facing 2 megapixel camera for video chat.
Samsung will start selling the Galaxy Round in South Korea this week, the handset retails for 1,089,000 won, which is roughly $1,000 at the current exchange rate.
Don’t expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Round in the US and Europe any time soon, as Samsung announced that it has no plans as yet to sell the device outside of South Korea.
We suspect that the high price tag of the handset may put US and European consumers off, considering the specifications are very similar to the Galaxy Note 3, excluding the curved display.
