Last week we heard that there were issues with the display on the new Samsung Galaxy Fold. The handset was sent out to journalists to review and a number of them had issues with its display. We previously saw a video of Samsung testing out the handset.
Now Samsung has confirmed that it is delaying the launch of the device until it is able to fix the issue, the company will be running a range of tests on the device in order to work out exactly what the problem is.
Initial findings from the inspection of reported issues on the display showed that they could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge. There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.
We will take measures to strengthen the display protection. We will also enhance the guidance on care and use of the display including the protective layer so that our customers get the most out of their Galaxy Fold.
As yet there are no details on when the handset will go on sale or how long it has been delayed for, the device was due to go on sale shortly. Hopefully Samsung will be able to get these issues resolved quickly.
