It looks like we have some details on the Android Marshmallow updates for a number of Samsung Galaxy devices.
Details on the Android Marshmallow update for a number of handsets have been leaked and it looks like some devices will get the update next month.
The update will apparently be released for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 next month, this will then be followed by the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in February and March.
After that, it will be the turn of the Galaxy S5 in March and April and also the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge in March and April.
These dates have yet to be confirmed by Samsung and they have apparently come from a leaked Samsung update schedule.
What to Expect from the Android Marshmallow Update
The Android Marshmallow update brings a host of new features and improvements to the Samsung Galaxy devices. Users can look forward to enhanced app permissions, which give them more control over what information apps can access. This means you can now allow or deny specific permissions for each app, improving your privacy and security.
Another significant feature is the Doze mode, which helps to extend battery life by putting your device into a deep sleep state when it is not in use. This can significantly reduce battery drain, especially for users who do not charge their phones overnight.
Additionally, the update includes Google Now on Tap, a feature that provides contextual information based on the content currently displayed on your screen. For example, if you are reading an article about a movie, you can hold the home button to get more information about the movie, including reviews, trailers, and showtimes.
Device-Specific Enhancements
Each Samsung Galaxy device receiving the Android Marshmallow update will also benefit from device-specific enhancements. For instance, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 will see improvements in their S Pen functionality and Edge screen features. The S Pen will become more responsive and offer new shortcuts, making it easier to take notes and navigate your device.
The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will receive updates to their camera software, improving photo quality and adding new shooting modes. Users can expect better low-light performance and faster autofocus, making it easier to capture high-quality images in various conditions.
For the Galaxy S5, Note 4, and Note Edge, the update will bring performance improvements and bug fixes, ensuring a smoother and more stable user experience. These devices will also benefit from the general enhancements that come with Android Marshmallow, such as improved app performance and better memory management.
As soon as we get some more details on the exact dates for the Android Marshmallow update for the above handsets, we will let you guys know.
