This month RuggON has unveiled a new addition to their range of rugged Windows tablets with the launch of the RuggON Rextorm that can be loaded with either Windows 7 or Windows 8 Pro operating systems.
The Rextorm Windows tablet is powered by an Intel Core i5 Haswell or an Intel Atom Bay Trail dual-core processor that can be supported by either 4 or 8GB of DDR3 RAM together with the option to install either 120 or 240 GB solid state disk (SSD).
The RuggON Rextorm tablet as been designed to meet MIL-STD-810G standards for shock and vibration and is supplied with an IP65 rating and includes USB 3.0, 2.0, RS232, RJ45, Micro-HDMI, and Micro-SD card reader for further storage expansion as well as connectivity via Bluetooth.
RuggON has created three different versions that will take the form of the Rextorm PX-501, PM-521 and the PA-501 all of which are equipped with swappable dual battery designs that enable users to swap batteries without having to turn off and reboot the tablet.
High-capacity batteries will also be available for extended use within the field providing 12 hours of battery life for the PM-521 and PX-501, while adding up to a massive 22 hours for the PA-501 version. Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet RuggON, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
