Samsung has started the roll out process for the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 a few weeks back, but there’s no word about the update for the last year’s flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S4.
If you’re rocking a Samsung Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3 which is tied to Rogers in Canada, there’s a piece of good news for you. Rogers is listing the Android 4.4 KitKat update as “coming soon.”
Before you get over excited, there’s no exact launch date given for the update, but at least they are notifying their customers that it’s near. Additionally, the release dates are subject to change so you can count it some delays as well — Samsung doesn’t have a very good history of releasing timely updates for its handsets. Although rumors suggest that Android 4.4 Kitkat for Galaxy S4 is in testing and should roll out in the coming weeks.
The schedule also notes that HTC One Mini will also get the choclaty taste of Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of February, which should rejoice the owners of the miniature handsets.
Android handsets are not the only one who are expected to get the update, Rogers say Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Ativ S will get the latest Windows Phone 8 Update 3 as well. Unfortunately, it’s also listed as “coming soon” in the schedule so you need to be patient for a little while.
As soon as Rogers begin the roll out of the OS updates for the above-mentioned handsets, we’ll let you guys know.
