there have been a number of rumors over the last few months that RIM had intended to open up its BlackBerry Messenger to other platforms which included Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platform.
Now according to a recent report from the WSJ, who recently interviewed RIM’s CEO, RIM has no plans to license BBM to other platforms, or other devices.
BBM is one of the more popular parts of RIM’s BlackBerry devices, an new BlackBerry devices are rumored to come with their own dedicated BBM button and the service is expected to be integrated with other apps including third party ones.
