If you enjoy arcade games you are sure to enjoy these mini arcade games created by New Wave Toys based in Los Angeles California. The first miniature arcade cabinet they have created is aptly named RepliCade and is a tiny version of the iconic Centipede arcade machine.
RepliCade measures 12 inches tall and has been made to actually represent the Centipede machine as a 1/6 scale replica, collectors edition made from metal and wood, complete with a mini trackball and modern technology.
Watch the video below to learn more about the mini arcade machines which have taken to Kickstarter this week and already raised over $90,000 thanks to over 740 backers.
At New Wave Toys, we believe that bringing home the arcade experience means more than simply playing the original arcade ROM. The video arcade experience is a blend of many things, and to truly bring that experience into your home requires great attention to detail. RepliCade Amusements combine a blend of traditional design and materials with modern technology to recreate your favorite arcade classics in sixth scale.
These miniaturized arcade machines are fully playable and officially licensed by the original manufacturers. Every detail in these amazing works of arcade art has been painstakingly reproduced, including:
• Wooden cabinet in perfect profile
• Accurately reproduced control system
• Backlit LED marquee with authentic art
• Authentic metal coin door
• Vividly reproduced side panel art, bezel, and control panel overlay graphics
For our RepliCade X Centipede Collector’s Edition, the Trackball and push buttons have been resized to coordinate with the sixth scale cabinet while retaining a fully-functional and satisfying gameplay experience.
And of course all RepliCade machines run the original arcade game ROMs you expect!
Our goal is to give you the ability to recreate classic video game arcade ambiance in your own home for a fraction of the cost and size of full-sized, vintage arcade cabinets. With RepliCade Amusements, you can finally build your very own collection of classic arcade machines from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, the perfect complement to your toy collection, game room, home or office.
