A new ultralight portable 4K touchscreen monitor has launched via Kickstarter this week in the form of the Desklab, designed for gaming, work and travel. The universal monitor is equipped with a variety of connections including HDMI, USB, USB-C and 3.5 mm audio ports and features integrated speakers and is compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and more.
Early bird pledges are available from $295 or £229 offering a 57% discount off the recommended retail price. If all goes well worldwide shipping is expected to take place during February 2020.
“Just a portable monitor? No way. Desklab is an entire suite of office and entertainment features packed into the lightest portable touchscreen monitor ever. It’s your 4K screen, it’s your dongles, it’s your charger, it’s your speakers, and it’s fully customizable to be whatever else you need. Get rid of all the clutter in your briefcase or backpack. The lightest portable monitor in its class. Desklab is the only monitor that packs so many features into such a lightweight package. At 15 inches and just 1.3 lbs, you can’t find a bigger screen or better resolution in this weight class. Desklab weighs 4x lighter than the average laptop and is less than half the weight of MacBook Air. Not only that, but Desklab is thinner than the average tablet, so it will fit into the laptop pocket in your bag and leave plenty of space for your computer.”
