Panasonic has taken the wraps off their first 3D Plasma HDTV, the Panasonic VIERA VT. The VIERA VT will be available in two different sizes, a 50-inch model and a 54-inch model.
These new 3D Plasma HDTVs feature an impressive contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, ensuring deep blacks and vibrant colors that enhance the viewing experience. They come equipped with both digital and analogue tuners built-in, allowing users to access a wide range of channels without needing an external set-top box. Additionally, the VIERA VT series includes a 2.1 channel 20W speaker system, providing clear and immersive audio to complement the stunning visuals.
Advanced Connectivity Options
Other features include four HDMI ports, which allow for multiple high-definition devices to be connected simultaneously, such as gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, and streaming devices. The inclusion of component and VGA ports ensures compatibility with older devices, making the VIERA VT a versatile choice for any home entertainment setup. An Ethernet port is also available, enabling users to connect their HDTV to the internet for streaming services, firmware updates, and other online features.
Both models in the range will come with 3D active shutter glasses, which use batteries to quickly block out each of the lenses alternately. This technology creates a seamless 3D viewing experience by synchronizing with the display to deliver high-quality 3D images. The active shutter glasses are designed to be comfortable for extended viewing periods, making them ideal for movie marathons or long gaming sessions.
Pricing and Availability
The Panasonic VIERA VT 3D Plasma HDTVs will go on sale in Japan in April, with the 54-inch model retailing for $5,900 and the 50-inch model retailing for $4,800. These prices reflect the advanced technology and premium features that the VIERA VT series offers, positioning them as high-end options in the 3D HDTV market.
There are no details as yet on when we are likely to see them arrive in the US and Europe. However, given Panasonic’s global presence and the growing demand for 3D technology, it is expected that these models will eventually be available in other regions. Consumers in the US and Europe can look forward to experiencing the cutting-edge features of the VIERA VT series in the near future.
