Check out this gravity deifying iPad Stand called the Padfoot. The tiny corner stand is created from one piece of plastic with a slot cut into it in which you insert your iPad.
Without actually seeing how this stand works it does seem very small and insignificant (only weighing 15g) to hold upright the quite hefty iPad, safely without it slipping.
The PadFoot is manufactured in tough but lightweight, 3D printed polyamide and is finished with a fine surface texture. The Padfoot is available to purchase for $25 from Shapeways
