UK mobile phone operator Orange, has launched its own application store for mobile phones, and as well as applications you will also be able to buy widgets and ringtones direct to your mobile Phone.
Orange’s application store has been about for a while, but the new version will actually be on customers mobile phones, so they will be able to access content directly from their phone in one click.
Orange reinforced its commitment to bring mobile multimedia services to everyone today with the launch of the Orange App Shop. Soon to be available in just one-click from the homescreen, the new Orange App Shop will give millions of customers simple, direct access and improved search and browsing to over 5,000 applications, games, ringtones and wallpapers.
Throughout 2010, Orange will continue to innovate, working with developers and content providers to rapidly expand its App Shop catalogue, with thousands of new applications that customers can use in everyday life, on any device.
The Orange application store will initially be available on some of their Sony and Nokia mobile phones, and it will roll out to other manufacturers with an over the air update, early next year.
Customers will be able to easily purchase apps without the need for a crdit or debit card, as the cost of the application will be added to the customers mobile phone bill once it has been purchased.
