Nokia announced the PureView 808 smartphone a few months ago, and whilst Nokia said the handset would not be available with mobile carriers in the US,they did say they intended to bring the smartphone to the US, we presume via some sort of SIM free offering.
Nokia has a special event scheduled for the US later today, and according to recent report, they will be announcing the launch of the Nokia 808 PureView for the US.
As a reminder the Nokia 808 PureView runs Symbian Belle as its OS and features a 41 megapixel camera and a 4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels.
Other specifications include a 1.3GHz single core processor and comes with 16GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards.
