If you have been experiencing problems with your Nintendo Switches removable Joy-Con controllers you will be pleased to know that Nintendo will be happy to exchange your controllers if they are not responding correctly, even if your console is out of warranty.
Joy-Con drift has been a problem for many Switch owners and will because the analogue sticks on the Joy-Con controller to randomly move an input commands to the console even when not in use. A couple of causes for the issue have been pinned down to perhaps dust or debris entering the controller underneath the rubber seal which has been designed to keep particles out. While others have even taken apart the Switch Joy-Con controllers and discovered that contacts have been worn down which also might be contributing to the Joy-Con drift issues being experienced.
Nintendo has now issued a statement advising anyone that is experiencing issues to exchange their controllers for new.
“At Nintendo, we take great pride in creating quality products and we are continuously making improvements to them. We are aware of recent reports that some Joy-Con controllers are not responding correctly. We want our consumers to have fun with Nintendo Switch, and if anything falls short of this goal we always encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com so we can help.”
Nintendo will also be honouring those that have already paid for Joy-Con controller repairs in the past and will issue a refund accordingly.
