I have always though the sales of the Nintendo 3DS were pretty bad since that is generally all I have heard about it. I have always blamed that on the lack of quality games. The game library for the 3DS is very small, but it is growing with some very nice titles on the market right now.
According to DigitalTrends, the sales of the 3DS are betting than I thought. Apparently, the portable 3D console is set to beat the first year sales of the DS. The DS sold 2.37 million units the first year it was out. So far, the 3DS has sold 1.65 million units so far since March in the US alone.
With games like the new Mario Kart and the holiday season on the horizon, the 3DS should sell well in the last few months of the year. The console has sold very well since the price was cut to about $170 for the original $250.
