There have been a number of rumors over the last week that this year’s iPhone will come with a 4.6-inch display. The rumor originally came from a report, which had said that the sixth generation iPhone would launch in the second quarter of 2012.
Well, it looks like the report was nothing but a rumor, as we suspected, as there are now conflicting reports saying that this year’s iPhone will come with the same 3.5-inch display which is featured in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.

The news comes from the guys over at iMore, who have also said that the new iPhone will come with a new smaller dock connector than the existing models and also 4G LTE.
New Features and Enhancements
The introduction of a smaller dock connector is a significant change, as it will likely mean that existing accessories will not be compatible with the new iPhone without an adapter. This move could be seen as a way for Apple to make the device more compact and possibly improve its internal design. Additionally, the inclusion of 4G LTE is a major upgrade, as it will allow for faster internet speeds and improved connectivity, which is something that many users have been eagerly anticipating.
They are also saying that the device will launch in the fall, which sounds much more likely than the rumored second quarter launch date from Reuters. Apple launched the iPhone 4S in October of last year, so we can expect the new iPhone to launch around the same time this year, and we suspect it will land in either September or October of 2012.
Market Expectations and Speculations
The anticipation for the new iPhone is palpable, with many analysts and tech enthusiasts speculating on what other features might be included. Some believe that Apple might introduce a new form of biometric security, such as facial recognition or an improved fingerprint scanner. Others are hopeful for enhancements in the camera system, possibly with better low-light performance and higher resolution capabilities.
Moreover, the software aspect is also a point of interest. With the new iPhone, Apple is expected to introduce the latest version of its iOS operating system, which could bring new functionalities and improvements in user experience. Features like augmented reality (AR) capabilities, enhanced Siri functionalities, and more robust integration with other Apple devices are among the speculated upgrades.
