Retro Fighters has started a new Kickstarter campaign this week to raise the required funds needed to create a next-generation Dreamcast controller. The new Dreamcast controller has been created to provide a modern reimagining of the original while also providing a more ergonomic design.
With still 28 days remaining on its campaign the team has raised more than four times its required pledge goal thanks to over 800 backers. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the controller which is available to back by Kickstarter with early bird pledges available from $43. If all goes well worldwide shipping is expected to start sometime around September 2019.
“We wanted to make a new ergonomic controller for one of our favorite consoles of all time, the Sega Dreamcast! We changed some things to make the Dreamcast controller more ergonomic and comfortable in design. The controller features a more modern two handle grip. The shape of the controller is very comfortable and fits naturally in both hands with easy access to all the buttons.”
