What to Expect from iOS 11
We are expecting iOS 11 to be made official along with a new version of macOS Sierra, plus some new hardware which will include a new Siri Speaker, some new MacBooks, and a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. iOS 11 is anticipated to bring a host of new features and improvements to enhance user experience. Among the rumored features are a redesigned Control Center, improved Siri functionality, and enhanced multitasking capabilities for the iPad.
The Files app discovery is particularly intriguing as it suggests a significant shift in how iOS handles file management. This app could potentially offer a centralized location for all files stored on the device, similar to the Finder on macOS. This would be a welcome addition for users who have long desired better file organization and management on their iOS devices.
New Hardware Announcements
In addition to the software updates, Apple is expected to unveil several new hardware products. The rumored Siri Speaker is anticipated to compete with other smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Home. This device is expected to feature high-quality audio and deep integration with Apple’s ecosystem, including Siri and Apple Music.
The new MacBooks are expected to come with updated processors and possibly other hardware improvements. The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is rumored to feature a nearly bezel-less display, offering a larger screen in a similar form factor to the current 9.7-inch model. This new iPad Pro is also expected to come with improved performance and possibly new features tailored for professional users.
We will have more details on exactly what Apple has planned at their Keynote later today. The event takes place at 6 PM UK time and 10 AM PT. Stay tuned for updates as we cover the announcements live.
