When the Amazon Echo Dot launched the device was available for $89.99 and now it looks like Amazon is getting ready to launch a new cheaper version of the device which will retail for $50.
Amazon announced their new $49.99 Echo Dot on Twitter, although the tweet was quickly deleted, you can see a retweet of the original tweet below.

As yet there are no details on when the new Amazon Echo Dot will launch, the current device is sold out so it looks like its replacement device is on the way.
