Check out this Bluetooth headset with built-in DAB.
The Technology Partnership (TTP) has developed nanoDABTM, the world’s first Bluetooth headset accessory with built-in DAB digital radio. nanoDABTM is being manufactured under licence by Refined Industry and will be available worldwide from September 2008. TTP is previewing the nanoDABTM technology on its stand at Mobile World Congress.
TTP has also been working with digital radio broadcasters around the world to define new visual, interactive and download services for nanoDABTM. These new digital broadcast services will enable mobile phone users with the nanoDABTM accessory to listen to digital radio and to view, navigate and store visual content, such as images, slides, music tracks and podcasts which are broadcast in association with radio stations.
Innovative Features of nanoDABTM
The nanoDABTM headset is not just another Bluetooth accessory; it represents a significant leap in integrating digital radio technology with mobile devices. The built-in DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radio allows users to access a wide range of digital radio stations with superior sound quality compared to traditional FM/AM radios. This feature is particularly beneficial for audiophiles and radio enthusiasts who seek high-fidelity audio experiences on the go.
Moreover, the nanoDABTM headset supports interactive services, enabling users to engage with the content in ways previously not possible. For instance, listeners can receive real-time updates, participate in live polls, and even download exclusive content directly to their mobile devices. This level of interactivity transforms the passive act of listening to the radio into an engaging and dynamic experience.
Global Collaboration and Future Prospects
TTP’s collaboration with digital radio broadcasters worldwide is a testament to the global appeal and potential of the nanoDABTM technology. By working closely with broadcasters, TTP ensures that the nanoDABTM headset is compatible with various digital radio standards and services across different regions. This global approach not only broadens the market reach of the product but also enhances the user experience by providing access to a diverse array of content.
In addition to the audio capabilities, the nanoDABTM headset offers visual and navigational features. Users can view images, slides, and even music videos that are broadcast alongside the audio content. This multimedia approach enriches the listening experience and provides additional value to users. For example, a radio station could broadcast a live concert, and listeners with the nanoDABTM headset could watch the performance in real-time while enjoying the high-quality audio.
Furthermore, the ability to store and navigate through downloaded content means that users can create personalized playlists and access their favorite shows and tracks anytime, even without an active internet connection. This offline functionality is particularly useful for commuters and travelers who may not always have reliable internet access.
