Earlier today we heard that Motorola’s CEO thought that Apple’s iPhone is too expensive, and now Motorola is looking to make it easier for you to switch from your iPhone to a Motorola handset with an updated Motorola Migrate tool.
Previously the Motorola Moto X supported migration of your iCloud information, and now the updated Motorola Migrate tool has expanded this to a number of other devices.
One of the biggest pains of a new phone is leaving behind important stuff on your old phone. Now you can move the most important content from your old to your new phone in just a few steps, wirelessly. Motorola Migrate transfers from Android (2.2 + above) and iPhone (via iCloud) to Moto X, Moto G, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra.
Expanded Device Support
As well as the Moto X, the Moto G, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra are now supported with the iCloud migration. This means that users of these devices can seamlessly transfer their contacts, photos, videos, and even text message history from their old iPhone to their new Motorola device. The process is designed to be user-friendly, requiring only a few simple steps to complete the transfer wirelessly. This is particularly beneficial for users who may not be tech-savvy, as it simplifies what can often be a daunting task.
How Motorola Migrate Works
Motorola Migrate works by leveraging cloud technology to facilitate the transfer of data. For iPhone users, the tool accesses the data stored in iCloud and transfers it to the new Motorola device. This includes not just contacts and photos, but also calendar events and call logs. For Android users, the tool can transfer data from devices running Android 2.2 and above. This broad compatibility ensures that a wide range of users can benefit from the tool, regardless of the age or model of their previous device.
The updated Motorola Migrate tool is a significant step forward in making the transition between different smartphone ecosystems smoother and less stressful. It addresses one of the major pain points for users looking to switch devices: the fear of losing important data. By offering a reliable and straightforward solution, Motorola is positioning itself as a user-friendly alternative to more expensive options like the iPhone.
