Some of our readers may remember the Modu mobile phone that we featured on the site in February 2008, just to refresh your memory Modu was a tiny mobile phone that had a bunch of interchangeable cases to completely transform its look and functions.
Well it looks like Modu has just announced that their tiny mobile will be going into production, with a host of new accessories.
The new Modu mobile phone will come with 2GB of storage, and it features a new UI plus a host of new features, although full details on the features haven’t been announced yet.
Along with the new version of Modu, there are four new jackets to transform this tiny mobile phone into a fully functional mobile phone, including a night jacket, a street art jacket, a classic jacket and an express jacket.
The Modu mobile phone is expect to retail for around $200, and it will come with 2 of the interchangeable jackets, you will also be able to purchase additional jackets with prices ranging from $25 up to $100.
I remember seeing the Modu concept last year and thinking what an interesting design and a clever idea it was, as rather than changing your mobile phone when a new design comes out you will just be able to get a new jacket.
It will be interesting to see what functions the Modu phone has and how the phone is transformed by adding a new Jacket.
